I finally had time to cut a new acting reel. It only happens about once a year. Not only do I have to grind through a lot of footage of myself once the reel’s been cut I have to wade into the unfamiliar snarl of Flash programming that is lanceleedavis.com and update that beast. Anyway, enjoy–beats doing income taxes.
This new reel is a little less edgy than the last one, I suppose, and leads with stronger comedy (from ‘The One That Got Away’–see earlier post for link to the entire piece). Read the rest of this entry »
It’s been rainy and unseasonably cold in L.A. for the past few weeks and so I’m waxing nostalgic for the tropics.
These are shots from La Luna, a private resort on the Caribbean isle of Grenada that Kimmie and I were lucky enough to make it to last summer. I’d glanced at their website before arriving (Okay, I’d done a little more than ‘glanced’ at it. I had it bookmarked for months as a kind of incentive to go on breathing), and there is nothing I could say or do to improve on their pitch except maybe to add by way of stupendous understatement that you can drink the tap water. We got a nice mention and plug on KCRW’s weekly entertainment news and talk show, ‘The Business’, which is airs in Los Angeles, New York, and some cities in between. To hear the podcast:

Just recently finished this spec short (web pilot?) for writer/director Devin Lawrence. We shot it in a day on a heavily tricked out Sony EX-1. Finishing and color was done in Apple Shake. I played ‘William’, which was good fun. The biggest challenge on the acting front was the physicality–to nail the stunt fall but stay in character to instantly pop back up with lines, etc.
